Upendo Village is a not-for-profit that was designed by Kenyans to respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemic at a local level. Upendo means "Love" in Kiswahili, and the program provides holistic care to nearly 10,000 people affected by AIDS per month. Upendo Village relies solely grants and donations to provide various resources.
Resources include, food, water, medical care, counseling and the teaching of sustainable practices such as agriculture, micro-enterprise, solar cooking to prevent deforestation and fair-trade craft making.
There are just too many resources to name here. For more information on what we do and how to help, go to www.upendovillage.org
